3 Airlines Launching Nonstop Flights From U.S. To Punta Cana

Like Cancun, Montego Bay, and The Bahamas, Punta Cana is in an exclusive club of paradisal getaways that truly never get old.
While there is certainly no shortage of flights to reach the Dominican Republic’s most sought-after beach destination, some cities don’t have the same advantage.
In the same breath, a little competition can drive down fares, especially with a pair of budget carriers entering the chat, including a relatively new Dominican airline entering U.S. skies for the first time.
These 3 airlines are launching nonstop flights from the U.S. to Punta Cana:
Delta Launching New Punta Cana Route From Detroit
The Midwest is an often overlooked treasure trove of delights, including Detroit itself, as it made an epic comeback to relevance once again.
But as trendy as Detroit may be right now, there’s one thing it surely doesn’t have – a screensaver-worthy pristine beach like Punta Cana’s world-renowned shores.
Beginning May 10, 2025, Michiganders can put their passport to good use by traveling to the best beach vacation spot in the D.R.
Set to run nonstop on Saturdays only, a full week in paradise sounds about right. And if you’d like my advice, as great as Punta Cana’s Blue-Flag certified Bavaro Beach may be, I highly recommend booking an excursion to Saona Island (bring sunscreen!) for a less-touristy hideaway with warm, crystal-clear waters away from jam-packed resorts.
This route is seasonal as of now and is expected to halt service on August 2, 2025.

Frontier Launching New Punta Cana Route From Cincinnati
Frontier may not be flashy, but hey, at least they’re not fighting well-publicized bankruptcies and in-air flight mishaps.
As a budget traveler myself, Frontier doesn’t crack the top of my list of favorite low-cost airlines, but they do fly to some pretty awesome places, including Punta Cana.
As long as you abide by their very, very, VERY strict baggage allowance, you’re in good hands jetting off to one of the Caribbean’s best beach getaways.
Frontier currently connects 8 U.S. cities to Punta Cana, with Cincy set to become the 9th. Slated to launch May 17, 2025, it’s best to plan ahead as introductory promotional fares are only $99.
This will be a weekly route with no end date announce,d and the following blackout dates may apply for promotional fares:
- May 22-23
- May 26
- June 28-29
- July 3
- July 5-6
Arajet: New(ish) Dominican Airline Entering U.S. Skies For First Time
Ever heard of Arajet? Nobody can blame you if you haven’t. Established in 2022, Arajet has been literally and figuratively taking off throughout the Caribbean.
Embracing a new challenge, this Dominican low-cost carrier is set to take to U.S. skies for the first time with multiple routes, but only one serving Punta Cana for the time being.
Sometimes, entering the U.S. market can be tricky as there is much behind-the-scene bureaucracy taking place, which is a good thing for travelers that not just any airline can be approved at the drop of the hat.
According to Airline Geeks, the Department of Transportation has already given the green light to Arajet for the following routes:
- Miami (MIA) to Punta Cana
- Miami (MIA) to Santiago
- New York (JFK) to San Juan, P.R.
Regarding Punta Cana, the new flight from Miami will operate four times per week beginning June 14, 2025.
